Rune Portraits

This series of portraits depict the struggles of some of my closest family members and myself. Each image contains a rune from the Elder Futhark, The oldest known rune alphabet. Each rune symbolizes a set of values and meanings and each was specifically chosen to reflect the life status of the individual it is depicted with. The name of each portrait is the names of the rune depicted. These were started in about late January of 2011 and mostly complete in May of that year. They were finalized early June. They are all about 11 cm in height and 8 cm in width. A possible re-rendering, perhaps at a larger size, is under consideration for another time.
